Boy crushes will be on full display when young upstarts Persecution Blues teams up with old upstart Brat Farrar for an afternoon of hilarity, partial nudity and drunkenness.
Persecution Blues are a rock’n’roll outfit hailing from Melbourne’s north, the spawn of rock’n’roll royalty. They bring sonic-energy vibes in a similar vein to their influential namesakes the Powder
Monkeys, Bored, Stooges, AC/DC and MC5. Fresh off schoolies week, they are without a doubt future fitzroyality themselves.
After years in isolation garage punk no hopper Brat Farrar is back. Having pumped out 4 LPs and countless 7 inches made up of no frills, lo-fi, punk jams in a prolific run, Farrar returns to the stage
this time in solo-esque mode, accompanied by an array of vintage digital equipment that mostly works and is guaranteed to be the loudest punk rock show in town. For the uninitiated they also moonlight in the equally elusive Digger and The Pussycats.
Persecution Blues and Brat Farrar – Saturday August 6 th at The Tote Front Bar. Tickets $10
PRESALE/$15 DOOR. Limited capacity.
