The Market is your one-stop-shop this festive season, with fresh produce, seafood, groceries, summer fashion and gifts for everyone on your list. There will be two extra trade days in the lead-up to Christmas, plus express pick-up of seafood pre-orders in the York Street car park.
Welcome Cobb Lane!
Artisan bakers, Cobb Lane have opened on Coventry Street. Specialising in a wide range of breads, delicious pastries and cakes, they also offer seasonal specials so you’ll always find something new!
Visit From Santa
There is loads to see and do at the Village Market this festive season! Santa will be dropping in before the big day, and when he isn’t looking, why not sneak a photo in his big red chair! Plus catch Mr Dash the juggling Christmas Elf, roving carollers, live music and free face painting for the kids.
Shop Online for Christmas!
Ordering for Christmas is now available via our online shopping platform, SMM Direct. We’ll be offering home delivery across Melbourne every Market day in the lead-up to Christmas, excluding Christmas Eve. Shop seasonal produce, hampers, gift boxes and more!

Premier’s Sustainability Awards
The Nature Conservancy have won the 2021 Premier’s Recognition Award for their work in restoring oyster reefs in Port Phillip Bay!
The Market is proud to partner with The Nature Conservancy as part of the Shuck Don’t Chuck program, which sees our oyster, mussel and scallop shells recycled and used to rebuild precious ecosystems in our local Bay.

Market Committee Meetings
The South Melbourne Market Committee has the responsibility of overseeing the Market on behalf of Port Phillip Council. The Committee meets on a bi-monthly basis and meetings are open to the public. The next meeting is on 16 December and 2022 meeting dates are now available to view online.
