The Worlds Of David Bowie + The Thin White Ukes

The Thin White Ukes & The Bowie Project present Worlds of David Bowie
together for the first time, for one night only

David Bowie defied predictability for six decades. Before his passing in 2016, Melbourne produced two hugely inventive acts devoted to keeping his incredible songs not just alive, but thriving in the spirit of musical adventure that defines his legacy, thrilling hardcore Bowie fans and newcomers alike.

Together for the first time, The Thin White Ukes and The Bowie Project present the great songwriter’s stunning catalogue of household hits and dazzling obscurities in shades of acoustic strings, lush harmony vocals and elegant acoustic jazz… a bold collision of musical worlds orbiting one of the great stars of the rock era.

“The Thin White Ukes deliver Bowie with a darkness and delicacy that gives you goosebumps” — Angie Hart
“David in many ways had a jazz mentality. The Bowie Project bring his music to life in a fresh way” — Mike Garson

Rod Paine & The Fulltime Lovers (Album Launch)

Dirt On Velvet Album Launch.

This album marks a brief resting place in a long and continuing journey. Decades of well-travelled roads meandering through the Australian blues scene have converged, and at this intersection, Rod Paine and The Fulltime Lovers have wound down the windows, eased off the throttle and listened to the world outside, and within. Side roads of country, dirt lanes of rock and ever-present thoroughfares of roots. From the depths of the Mulgrave Gentlemen’s Club (MGC), to the four walls of the Ivanhoe Bungalow, voices are having a say – creating sounds, sharing ideas and digging up long lost tunes.

Regularly, other profound moments come to the fore in these two fine establishments, tending to be preceded by red wine, cheese platters, good beer, emotional ups and downs and open hearts to whatever weight one may be carrying. Supporting on the night is bluesman Jarrod Shaw.
