New exhibition showcases large-scale Australian landscapes designed to transform contemporary spaces

Port Melbourne artist Lynne Alexander is inviting visitors into a world of stillness, light and expansive beauty with a new exhibition of large-scale photographic landscapes opening from 19 March at her Bay Street gallery.

Known for her striking acrylic works inspired by Australia’s vast natural horizons, Alexander has carved out a distinctive space in Melbourne’s art scene with pieces that combine visual impact with a refined sense of calm. Her landscapes are created to anchor a room without overpowering it, making them highly sought after by collectors, interior designers, property developers and luxury home builders alike.

Operating from Lynne Alexander Gallery at 365 Bay Street, Port Melbourne, Alexander has built a destination gallery where statement art meets sophisticated living. Many of her works are offered in limited editions and custom sizes, allowing them to integrate seamlessly into modern homes, display suites and premium architectural spaces.

Alexander says the appeal of her work lies in its ability to create atmosphere.

“My clients are drawn to landscapes that feel calming and expansive,” she said. “Pieces that create a sense of space and serenity in a home without overpowering the room.”

The upcoming exhibition will present a new collection centred on themes of light, openness and tranquillity, offering visitors not just an art display, but an immersive sensory experience.

“This exhibition is about creating an experience,” Alexander said. “I want people to walk in and feel an immediate sense of calm and space.”

In a time when so much art is first encountered online, Alexander’s approach remains refreshingly personal. Much of her work is not widely shown on social media or her website, reflecting the preference of many collectors and designers to discover new pieces privately within the gallery itself.

For lovers of contemporary Australian landscape art, the exhibition offers a chance to experience Alexander’s latest works in the setting they were intended for — up close, in space, and in stillness.
