Curated by David Hunt

For August 2026

David says…”I’m thrilled to announce my next curated exhibition by celebrated artist Jo Lane –

“About Face” – yep, it’s behind the face, it’s all about the back of the head – Hair!!! – 7 pieces only.

This is the first time Jo will exhibit “About Face” in Melbourne!!

From her Master’s series in London.

“Drawings, graphite and colour pencil on black card – mounted and framed in black timber. Each I equate lines and filaments of hair to courses of thought, as a metaphor…for the strands of thought that occupy the mind endlessly. These lines – grow, curl, wend, depart, belong, come from the head, match mood, fall all over the place, dissect, are organised into patterns. As a drawer they are a gift………as humans we endlessly organise them.” Jo Lane

“What an amazing career she has had, starting her artistic journey by hanging out learning art with St Kilda legend Mirka Mora, then moved on to be a film & TV director/producer…but then re-tuned to her love as a Visual Artist.” David Hunt
