You may have recently seen an article in The Guardian reporting on the outcomes of the Creative Victoria organisational four-year funding round. After many years of generous support, unfortunately Linden is among the organisations to receive two-year funding with our Creative Victoria funding now concluding in December 2027.

This news is not what we had hoped for, and we will continue to advocate for Linden and the impact we have for artists and the community. Pleasingly, our funding from the City of Port Phillip continues, for which we are very grateful,  and be assured our commitment to artists and audiences remains unwavering. We are continuing our work with focus and determination.

This year, we are proud to present an exceptional program, including our major 40th anniversary exhibitions, which are open until the 24th May. These exhibitions celebrate four decades of championing artists and fostering ambitious contemporary practice.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to delivering bold and meaningful initiatives. These include the continuation of our Juncture Prize and mid-career artist survey exhibition, as well as the establishment of a new First Nations–focused prize that will provide a significant cash award and a major exhibition at Linden. Supporting artists at pivotal moments in their careers and creating diverse, dynamic engagement opportunities for our community continues to be at the heart of everything we do.

What is clear, however, is that we need to continue to diversify our income streams and develop new partnerships and opportunities to sustain and grow our program into the future.

And this is why your support is so important. There are many ways you can help ensure Linden continues to present brave new art and dynamic programs for adults, families, teens and children:

  • Gather a group of friends and attend our 40th Anniversary Fundraising Gala on 16 May (tickets on sale soon).
  • Make a tax-deductible donation to Linden, with all funds directly invested in our exhibitions and public programs.

Your support has sustained Linden for 40 years. With your continued involvement, advocacy and generosity, we are confident that Linden will not only navigate this moment but emerge stronger, continuing to back artists and present courageous contemporary art for decades to come.

Thank you for standing with us.

Warm regards,
Vincent
